What a memorable day indeed!Today, I visited a primary school for the school health programme under community medicine and it was pretty fun. I palpated my first few kids' testes. LOL. But on our way back on the curving and winding road... we met with an accident. My dear friend was speeding when the accident happened. She was driving at about 80 - 90 km/h when we reached a cornering... and instead of slowing down, I could see her speeding up. At the beginning, it was pretty exciting and fun as the three of us (at the back) were drifting to the left as she cornered... but then, something went terribly wrong. I could see we were closing up to the road divider and in a flash, I saw a bright light (due to the scorching sun) and a silver divider right in front of my eyes... and then, my reflex was to lower my head down and shut my eyes. Within a second, I could feel the impact of the accident that threw me more to the left. I knew it was a hard collision 'cause the sound generated was really loud and scary. The next thing I know, I opened my eyes and touched the left side of my head and moaned in pain. I could feel the throbbing sensation that slowly spread to the center of the head. Slowly and slowly it began to fade away but the swelling persisted. My left arm was knocked...and now there is this bruise on it. At the beginning, it was numb from the armpit down to the hand. Then slowly, I regained my sensation properly. Gosh, it was seriously scary. Had it not been a BMW... had it been a Malaysia made car like Kancil, Saga, Waja, Wira... I would not be typing this post right now I guess. I would most probably be dead by now. Seriously. But the car was badly damaged. The front door on the left side couldn't even open... Anyways, beside the divider was a ravine. Had the divider broke into half when we rammed into it, we would have gone down the ravine and perish as well. I am really thankful to God .... just by being alive and well right now!! Today is one of the scariest moment in my life - was this close to death. I'll never ever forget this and will learn something from it.... NEVER EVER SPEED SO FAST~ YOU'LL NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU'LL LOSE CONTROL OF YOUR CAR... Labels: accident, footprints |
